A recent Fortnite Battle Royale fan theory suggests that the game’s newest urban sprawl, Tilted Towers, may not stay standing for much longer.

In post on Reddit, user Tactical_Peperoni, with help from others, broke down a theory predicting the game’s Tilted Towers zone will soon be razed to the ground by a meteor strike. If you think this sounds absurd, you’re right, but there is some logic behind the theory that may give skeptics reason to reconsider.

Tactical_Peperoni starts the post by discussing the current unpopularity of the Tilted Towers area. The city center was an exciting novelty when it first launched, but it never gelled well with the game’s player-centric building system, and has long been a hotbed of cheap deaths and directionless chaos. As a result, some in the community believe the developers want it gone, and there is evidence to suggest Epic’s method of doing so will be drastic.

According to Tactical_Peperoni, a bright blue meteor can recently be seen in the sky above the game’s map, seemingly moving in the direction of Tilted Towers, in addition to blue reflections that can be found on the lenses of telescopes. The latest Battle Pass also features space-themed content, with some hints of a coming explosion, such as a nuke emoticon, flame stripes, and a dinosaur banner symbol. Our deli-meat friend also makes an interesting note about the map of Battle Royale, observing that it looks similar to the country of Poland, with Tilted Towers located where the country was once struck by the Morasko meteorite.

It sounds far-fetched, but the evidence does seem too abundant to be mere coincidence. Tactical_Peperoni anticipates that the event will happen at the end of the current season, so we may not know until then whether or not the residents of Tilted Towers are doomed.

In other explosive Fortnite news, a guided missile launcher was recently added to the Battle Royale experience, along with a variety of performance improvements and weapons changes.
