Fortnite is about to step beyond superheroes and giant purple cubes to conquer the real world. Epic Games and Hasbro have partnered to create Nerf guns and a Monopoly board themed after the popular Battle Royale shooter.
According to a recent tweet from Epic Games creative director Donald Mustard, the Fortnite edition of Monopoly will hit shelves on October 1st. Included in the announcement was a photo of the whole setup, which seems to include a few new features.
Thrilled to show you the final art and game board for Fortnite Monopoly! It’s so so fun and such a unique spin on the classic game mashed up with last player standing Fortnite. In stores Oct 1st!!! pic.twitter.com/aNqJmvfpb2

Similar to Fortnite and the classic Monopoly game, the last player standing will be the winner, but everything else from the Monopoly formula will come with a twist. Instead of money, players will get life points that can be taken away by attacks from other players, Storm spaces, and even a Boogie Bomb. Users will also use two dice, one for movement and the other to gain an action, such as healing, adding walls to owned spaces, and attacking opponents.
It may be a silly take on Hasbro’s classic board game, but with the billion-dollar success of Fortnite, it’s likely to sell well. Hasbro also has another Fortnite-themed toy coming soon—Nerf blasters. According to IGN, the guns “will immerse fans into the player-versus-player action of the game, letting them play out the Battle Royale in real-world settings with blasters and accessories that emulate the onscreen battles Fortnite is known for.”
No release date or pricing has been revealed for the Nerf blasters, but with Fortnite Monopoly coming early next month, Hasbro might be saving the guns for the holiday season. As far as the actual Battle Royale game goes, Epic recently debuted a new update. Players can now enjoy the High Stakes event, new limited-time mode, Getaway, or try out the Grappler grappling hook item.
Fortnite is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
