Epic Games has pushed update 5.0 live for Fortnite, bringing with it the start of Season 5, a new vehicle, and much more.

Kicking things off is the introduction of the All Terrain Kart (ATK). This new vehicle has room for an entire squad, offers a speed boost after drifting, and has a roof that acts as a bounce pad. Passengers in the back of the ATK can also help their teammates by leaning back to increase jump height.

Alongside this new vehicle, a number of changes have been made to the map, including the addition of a new desert biome, two new locations, and a number of new, smaller points of interest. Mysterious rifts have also started to appear around the map, but Epic isn’t saying what happens if players step through them.

Other changes for Battle Royale players include shotgun balance changes, a double shotgun nerf, a nerf for the SMG, changes to progressive challenges, XP for reviving in large-team matches, and more.

While Save the World players get Challenge the Horde, a returning game mode that tasks players with defending pre-built bases against waves of Husks in groups of four with limited resources. A number of changes have been made to the mode since it was available last year, including the addition of Battle Royale’s Storm, a reduction in the number of waves, and a reduction in the length of waves.

As well as this mode, there’s new Wild West heroes, numerous hero balance changes, new Flintlock weapons, an increase in Energy damage, and new Road Trip Llamas.
