Forty weeks worth of DLC coming to Saints Row the Third

THE BUZZ: In one of those “this could be awesome” or “this could be awesomely bad” moments, THQ’s Brian Farrell told Den Takahashi that when Saints Row the Third launches, it’ll be followed by “40 weeks worth of downloadable digital content”.
“We totally change how we keep consumer engaged for a very long time,” Farrell told Takahashi for GamesBeat. “We intend to create an online digital ecosystem that keeps them interested for a year or more.”
EGM’s TAKE: If done right, this could actually be a very interesting idea, and could keep the game fresh for players long after having finished the main bulk of content. The question, of course, is how robust that content will be, and what kind of cost will be associated with it.
What if, for a game like this, you could pay a very low cost – say, $1 to $2 a month – and get continual updates and new content? Would you be interested in something like that? Or is that something you’re already expect from the game?
