THE BUZZ: Turn 10 Studios has announced that Forza 4 will be adopting micro-transactions, offering “Car Tokens” that will allow users to purchase cars early.
In-game credits can still be earned to unlock and purchase cars, however, the tokens will enable users to access the content quicker than saving up the credits. Tokens will be available individually for 80 Microsoft Points ($1) each, 400 Microsoft Points ($5) for six or 900 Microsoft Points ($10) for 13. All cars will not cost the same in tokens, the more expensive ones will require two or three to unlock.
EGM’s TAKE: We don’t have a problem with Microsoft implementing micro-transactions, as long as we can still unlock the cars traditionally. What we want to know is when someone is going to bring a true free-to-play system to consoles. We think people would still buy tokens and a lot of new people would give games like this a shot.
Are you happy to see this Car Token system?
