Forza 5 Unplayable Without Day-one DLC

Microsoft’s Xbox One launch title Forza 5 is unplayable unless you connect to the Internet and download a free day-one update, a developer working on the game has confirmed.

Dan Greenawalt, the studio head at Turn 10 Studios, told IGN that “when you first boot up the game we’re going to ask you to log in, and when you log in you’re going to get a whole bunch of content: tracks and cars. That is required content to play the game.”

So basically, unless you have an Internet connection you will be unable to play Forza 5. Considering that Microsoft originally planned to go down the always-on DRM route Turn 10 probably thought this wouldn’t be an issue, but now that Microsoft has back-peddled it could leave some people unable to play the game after purchasing it.
