Halo fans might have a reason to get hyped about Forza Horizon 4. A recently leaked image suggests a mission themed after the shooter series will be featured in the upcoming racer.
As seen in a recent thread from user DusenberryPie on the Halo subreddit, an image of the iconic Warthog from the Halo series was shared, giving players a hint that the all-terrain vehicle will be available in Forza Horizon 4. However, the Warthog on a beach wasn’t the only telling part of the picture. In the image, which you can check out below, a Covenant ship and the remainder of the Halo ring can be seen in the background.
In the first Halo, the mission The Silent Cartographer sent players to a shoreline where they received their first Warthog. Based on the leaked images beach setting, it’s believed the next entry in the Forza series will be replicating portions of the classic mission. YouTuber GokuYourself also provided more evidence to support the theory, revealing that an icon of Halo’s Pelican dropship was spotted on a leak of Forza Horizon 4‘s map. The map and icon can be seen in the video below.
Data miners on the Reddit thread also pointed out that audio files for Cortana and Echo 419, the Pelican’s pilot, were previously uncovered. Of course, the leaked images, files, and assets could be meant for something less exciting, but for now, all signs are pointing to Forza Horizon 4 including an epic crossover with Halo.
This won’t be the first time the Warthog has been featured in a Forza title, though. In Forza Horizon 3, players were able to unlock it as an alternative vehicle. However, if the leak turns out to be true, the upcoming game will be the first time a full mission has been dedicated to the original tale of Master Chief.
Forza Horizon 4 will launch for Xbox One and PC on October 2nd.
