Four Unlockable Game Modes in Dead Space 3

In a recent dev blog post, executive producer Steve Papoutsis revealed four unlockable game modes for Dead Space 3.

In New Game Plus, players retain all their gear and upgrades when starting a new campaign. Classic Mode is described as a throwback to the original Dead Space—single-player only, with “classic” aiming, and no crafting (only blueprints).

Then there’s Pure Survival Mode, which focuses on resource management. In Pure Survival Mode, enemies only drop resources, and there’s no ammo, no health items, and no weapon parts just laying about.

Finally, there’s the obligatory Hardcore Mode, in which players are given only one life for the entire campaign.

All of these modes are included on-disc, unlockable only after completing the game normally.

Dead Space 3 releases forXbox 360, PS3, and PC on February 5.
