Fraud Charge Against Activision Dismissed

THE BUZZ: A Los Angeles judge has dismissed one of the two fraud charges brought against Activision in its ongoing legal battle with former Infinity Ward bosses Frank West and Vince Zampella.
The judge ruled Friday that the fraudulent-inducement claim made by West and Zampella should be dismissed. The secondary fraud claim will still stand.
This charge will be added to the original lawsuit from 2010 where the pair claim they were strung along by the publisher until Modern Warfare 2 was completed, then were fired.
The remaining claims will go to trial on May 7.
EGM’s TAKE: It’s impossible to know exactly what happened in those few months before Modern Warfare 2 was completed, and we’re hoping the trial sheds some insight. The only thing for certain is that the pair were fired under odd circumstances, especially considering they had just completed the most successful game of that year. Something certainly happened between the two parties to spark the chain of events that followed, the main question is which side is in the wrong?
