If you don’t want to wait until 2018 to don Spider-Man’s mask in a game, Sony has released a free VR game as a marketing tie-in for Spider-Man: Homecoming that you can download right now.
Starting with the arrival of Spidey’s new, hi-tech suit courtesy of Stark Industries, the aptly titled Spider-Man: Homecoming VR Experience seems to consist of a series of mini-games in which players utilize motion controls to complete physics-based puzzles. The film’s villain, Vulture, will also make an appearance in the “experience.”
Despite being a marketing tie-in created by Sony for a Sony-owned character, the VR game is available on most major VR headset systems, including HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, in addition to PlayStation VR.
Oh, and did we mention it’s free?
Spider-Man: Homecoming is coming to theaters July 7th, 2017. Insomniac’s PlayStation 4-exclusive Spider-Man, which doesn’t tie in to any existing Spider-Man franchise, is coming sometime in 2018.
