Nintendo is partnering with Mojang to release a free Super Mario Mash-Up Pack for Minecraft: Wii U Edition.
The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack includes new skins, a Super Mario-themed pre-made world, and a set of Super Mario-themed music and item textures. All of this new content is inspired by games from the Super Mario series including Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine.
The DLC includes a total of 40 new Super Mario-themed skins including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Wario, and all seven Koopalings.
“Both the Super Mario franchise and Minecraft embrace the magic of exploration and discovery,” Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Publisher & Developer Relations, said. “Players will have a great time adventuring and creating in this free game update that embraces the unique and memorable elements of both franchises.”
The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack will be available as a free download from May 17th. The free DLC will also be included in the retail release of Minecraft: Wii U Edition, which launches June 17th for $29.99.
