Now that Friday the 13th: The Game is getting its servers under control after a messy launch, the development team has decided to give a much-needed thank you gift to players, with new content and rewards—or as the official announcement puts it, “cool free s—.”
Starting June 20th, Gun Media and Illfonic announced several in-game updates will roll out to entice players to jump back into the blood-soaked woods of Camp Crystal Lake. Each counselor will gain two new outfits, 13,000 free CP to spend, and most of exciting of all, a new retro Jason skin with an original chiptune track by Mitch Murder. Jason’s retro look is a clear homage to the NES game, where the killer’s purple coveralls and glowing teal skin really make him pop against red blood.
Are you ready for our first update? We have a few goodies to give you as thanks for your patience during this launch. Coming June 20th! pic.twitter.com/UV9WYQwfpx

A special event will also take place from June 23rd to 25th, giving players double XP earned in each match. Thankfully, unlike the matchmaking and bug fix patches, all three platforms will receive the bonuses on June 20th.
Friday the 13th: The Game is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
