The game that leaked earlier this year under the code name “Project Beast” has finally been revealed in full at Sony’s E3 press conference.
It’s called Bloodborne, and as the rumors stated, it’s a collaboration between Sony and From Software, with Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki serving as director.
Though it’s not clear from this debut trailer exactly how much the game will draw from those two earlier series, there appear to be at least a handful of key differences that will set Bloodborne apart. For starters, the aesthetic seems decidedly more modern, drawing influence from Victorian era architecture and fashion—though there are still plenty of fantasy beasties lurking in the shadows, by the look of it. Second, you’ll apparently be able to wield guns, in addition to the traditional slate of melee weapons.
Bloodborne will be released in 2015, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
Be sure to check back later in the week for more information about Bloodborne as it breaks from the E3 show floor.
