11 Bit Studios has unveiled Frostpunk: Console Edition for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

“Focusing on a smooth transition to consoles, great efforts are being taken to re-design the game and adjust its mechanics for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, especially when it comes to controls,” the developer explains. “11 bit studios still have some work to do but are close to the finish line, creating an intuitive interface allowing gameplay to feel natural even when playing with a controller.”

In addition to the revised controls and mechanics, the upcoming console release will launch with all previously released updates for the PC version, including The Fall of Winterhome scenario, additional customization options, difficulty settings, and balance tweaks.

Frostpunk was originally released on PC last year and offers “an alternative take on the 19th-century industrial revolution” in which the planet has mysteriously frozen. Players must build a city for survivors live in, manage their society, discover new technologies, and explore the frozen wastelands.

An exact release date for Frostpunk: Console Edition has not been announced, but the developer is aiming for a summer release.
