THE BUZZ: Mode 7 has stated that their indie darling Frozen Synapse is being prepared for an iPad release sometime next year according to a report by Kotaku. Currently, Frozen Synapse is available for PC, Linux, and Mac only, but with gameplay that lends itself to a tablet format some thought this port would be a no brainer. No exact price or release date has been set other than 2012, but Mode 7 has said they will open a beta soon. Frozen Synapse has been a critical success with a Metacritic score of 85 and a commercial success with over 300,000 units sold. All this before being ported over to what some are calling the ideal platform for this tactical strategy game.

EGM’s TAKE: Mode 7 has lightning in a bottle and it knows it. Our prediction is that by this time next year everyone’s phone, tablet, and microwave will have a port of Frozen Synapse.
