Gabe Newell, founder of Valve, has promised to answer questions in a Reddit AMA (Ask me Anything) if donations to The Heart of Racing charity reach $500,000.

The Heart of Racing charity benefits the Seattle Children’s Hospital. To prove that it was actually him making the promise, he posted a picture of himself in front of his computer with the message: “Well, it’s for the kids.”

The Heart of Racing charity was founded in 1997 by Seattle motorsport drivers Don and Donna Kitch. The charity has raised $5 million for the Seattle Children’s Hospital, with money raised based on the number of laps that racers connected to the charity complete.

Newell will be running a Porsche GT America in the United SportsCar Championship for the charity.
