Gabe Newell Still Wants Steam On Xbox Live

Posted on August 26, 2011 AT 07:28am

Valve’s Gabe Newell has said that he wishes Microsoft would drop the “Restrictions” which stop Valve putting Steam functionality on Xbox Live.

“Right now, there’s a huge amount of updates and free content we’ve been able to deliver to people who have The Orange Box that we haven’t been able to deliver to the Xbox because of the restrictions that have been placed on us on Xbox Live.” Gabe Newell told Eurogamer.

Gabe Newell also praised Sony for allowing Steam on PS3, he also addressed that third party developers have benefited from having Steam on PS3.

He wishes that the success that Steam has had on PS3 would encourage Microsoft to have it on Xbox Live.
