Gaikai and OnLive Refuse to Comment on Sony Buyout Rumors
Posted on May 31, 2012 AT 06:27am

Both OnLive and Gaikai have declined comment on the rumors surrounding a buyout of one of the companies by Sony.
Representatives from both companies told CVG that they were unable to comment on the rumors, but each insisted that it is important for the press to meet with them at E3 next week. Gaikai has also sent out press invitations for an announcement that ”has the potential to change the future of video games, game consoles and how we play.”
Based on this information it appears that Gaikai is the frontrunner to become part of Sony. Many believe that Sony is planning on adding a cloud gaming section to the PlayStation 3, not only would this allow for game streaming on Sony’s console, but it would also give the company access to several tablets and even browser-based gaming, giving them a significant advantage over Microsoft.
