THE BUZZ: OnLive has announced a partnership with UK retailer GAME, to sell their newly launched micro-console in stores.

Currently the console is only available by mail order in the US, so GAME will be the first retailer worldwide to stock the console, after a trial run on their website. “OnLive is delighted to announce a strategic launch partnership with GAME Group plc, UK’s leading videogame retailer,” OnLive said in a statement. “As the first games retailer in the world to become a strategic launch partner for OnLive, GAME will introduce the OnLive Game Service to millions of customers in the UK and eventually across Europe and elsewhere, starting with GAME’s e-commerce sites game.co.uk and gamestation.co.uk later this year.”

EGM’s TAKE: This is an odd move by GAME considering that their is no chance of software sales from the console, due to it being a digital distribution platform.
