GameFly yesterday launched their own digital distribution service for PC games, GameFly Digital, the company announced.
“We always wanted to bring the striking design and functionality of our PC client to the web so that everyone could access it from any browser,” said GameFly Digital general manager Saujin Yi in a press release. “To celebrate the launch of GameFly Digital, we’re excited to partner with 2K to give away their highly acclaimed PC game Mafia II for free.”
In addition to giving away Mafia II with the purchase of any 2K title, a ridiculous amount of the publisher’s catalog is currently on sale at GameFly Digital at up to 80 percent off, including (but not limited to): BioShock Infinite ($19.99), Borderlands 2 ($9.99), Civilization V: Gold Edition ($24.99), XCOM: Enemy Unknown ($19.99), BioShock and BioShock 2 ($4.99 each), a boatload of additional content for Borderlands 2, and several of 2K’s older titles.
To help improve users’ shopping experiences, GameFly Digital curates related content via “micro-stores” called Collections, which can be accessed through the Collections tab at the top right of their horizontal navigation bar just below the search box. These curate games based on publisher, similarity in genre, tone, and style, and more.
According to the press release, GameFly Digital contains over 2,500 digital games, ranging from triple-A titles from the likes of Capcom, Electronic Arts, and Rockstar, to indie gems as well.
