Gamer Set to Try and Break Longest Gaming Marathon Record Tomorrow
Posted on May 14, 2012 AT 07:27am

A gamer who goes by the name of “Hzrd” is going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest gaming marathon tomorrow, May 15, by playing Diablo III for 120 hours.
He only (only!?!) needs 109 hours to break the record, but wants to pump in another 11 hours to ensure that nobody else beats his attempt. A careful plan has been laid out including diet – which apparently revolves around consuming more energy than he will use – and staving off deep-vein thrombosis.
Hzrd isn’t just doing this for the glory, he is aiming to help The Sophie Lancaster Foundation – a charity set up to prevent prejudice and intolerance towards people from alternative subcultures. Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were attacked by a gang of teens while walking through their local park in Lancashire, England back in 2007. She fell into a coma and later passed away in hospital. The police believe the attack may have been due to the couple wearing Gothic fashion and being part of the Goth subculture. So if you’re going to be tuning in to the stream be sure to donate.
You can watch the whole 120 hours streamed live right here and offer your support in the chat room throughout the event.
