Gamers Being Banned for Playing Legitimate Copies of Forza 4?
Posted on October 15, 2011 AT 09:04am
THE BUZZ: Several gamers have reported on both the Xbox Support and Turn 10 forums that they have been banned from Xbox Live for playing illegal copies of games, after playing legitimate versions of Forza 4.
The reason stated for the ban is that the user had loaded up a pirated disc, though many claim all they did was play Forza 4. Xbox Support has said this is a Turn 10 issue, and that a fix will be released within the next 24 hours, but many gamers are still annoyed at the lack of support from Turn 10 in this matter. Some people are also stating that Turn 10 is actually locking any threads on their forums that mention a ban after playing Forza 4.
“If you have received an in-game message indicating that your console or Gamertag has been flagged for loading a pirated disc, this is the result of your console or account having been flagged by Xbox piracy detection. If you believe that you have received this message in error, please contact Xbox LIVE Support. Thread Locked.”
EGM’s TAKE: It’s unknown if the users in question are telling the truth but there seems to be enough of them to suggest this isn’t a legitimate piracy problem. Hopefully this is just an error on Turn 10′s part and will be rectified as quickly as possible, however its lack of communication on the matter is annoying.
Have you received the error? Let us know any details below.
