Gamescom 2012: FFVII, More PS One Classics Headed To Vita Starting Aug 28

Posted on August 14, 2012 AT 10:44am

It’s been a long time coming, but Sony is finally getting ready to roll out PlayStation One Classics on the Vita, starting with a few titles that everyone knows very well. As highlighted during their Gamescom 2012 press conference, Sony will be sending classic games to their handheld system for download starting August 28th.

Some of the titles highlighted by Sony were Final Fantasy VIIArc the LadTomb Raider, and Jet Moto.

PS One Classics on the PlayStation Vita has been a sticking point for the PlayStation community ever since the Vita’s release, as forum members and console owners wanted it from launch.

Sony previously talked out PS Vita compatibility at E3 2012, saying that the service would be gradual. However, you won’t need to buy them again—if you’ve purchased a PS Vita compatible game already, you can simply download it from the PlayStation Network to your handheld system.
