Gamescom 2012: New Star Trek Trailer Has A Noticeable Lizard Problem
Posted on August 15, 2012 AT 12:05pm
While the upcoming 2013 Star Trek film sequel likely won’t have any lizards in it, the video game mid-sequel by Digital Extremes is apparently just filled with enemies from the murderous “Gorn” race. At the very least, it provides a nice bridge between the two movies, especially since a large chunk of the film’s actors are going to be lending their voices to the game.
Namco Bandai and Paramount released a new trailer for the game, showing off the combat and environments, although no release date was pinned down in the footage.
That’s quite all right, though—Star Trek will likely hit stores somewhere around the same time as the next movie, which is slated to debut on the silver screen in May 2013.
For now, we can simply enjoy watching “alternate universe” Spock doing the Vulcan Nerve Pinch thing on man-sized lizard demons from outer space. Most of the environment look exciting enough, but the highlight reel could probably use a few more clips of Captain Kirk getting the snot kicked out of him—but not every game trailer can be that good, we suppose.
