Gamescom 2012: New ‘The Last Of Us’ Trailer Gets Whimsical
Posted on August 14, 2012 AT 11:54am
Even though there’s not a ton of new footage in Sony’s official Gamescom 2012 trailer for The Last of Us, it’s still a neat little recap of everything that we saw at E3 2012 this past summer. Opting for a more artsy style, the newest trailer provides a montage set to the tune of ”Alone and Forsaken” by country music icon Hank Williams.
It’s a fitting tune for the game in general, as Hank Williams’ music has a penchant for creating a terrific atmosphere.
Notably, a small piece of information about Joel’s past is given a moment at the end of the trailer, with the following exchange between him and Ellie:
“How did you know?”
“Know what?”
“About the ambush?”
“Because I’ve been on both sides.”
Check out the footage below, courtesy of Sony’s media rounds for Gamescom 2012. For those who need a reminder, The Last of Us doesn’t have a set release date yet, so we’ll just to keep waiting on Naughty Dog to wrap things up.
