Regardless of what you might think about the rebooted version of Devil May Cry‘s Dante, his presence in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a nice “get” for the PlayStation title, especially since the sword-swinging half-demon isn’t technically a Sony icon. Along with the roster announcement, Sony’s also put together a reel for Dante, detailing his arsenal.

Naturally, the bread-and-butter of Dante’s combo attacks is used with his trademark standard Rebellion blade and both handguns, Ebony and Ivory.

But the biggest assets seems to be his “Devil Mode,” which turns Dante into a one-hit-kill machine for a prolonged period of time, rather than using a one-shot attack.

However, the question will obviously come up: is Dante overpowered?

Hopefully not, especially since that’s exactly the reason Sony brought on people like former Capcom community lead Seth Killian to advise on the game’s development and mechanics.

If that’s the case, Dante will be one of the more useful characters in the game, as the duration of his “Level 3″ Super Art means that a decent player can rack up points rather quickly. Hit the trailer below and see if Dante’s style matches your fighting method.
