Talking to GamesIndustry International, GameStop CEO J. Paul Raines expressed his enthusiasm and excitement about Microsoft’s next Xbox console.

“We’ve been spending a lot of time with Microsoft, but we have to let them take the lead on this, but it will be a very hot, compelling device,” Raines said. “They are doing some really cool stuff, and I’m eager to hear them start their announcements because I think the world is going to stand up and take notice.”

Raines also reiterated the interest in PS4 GameStop’s observed, pointing out that nearly 900,000 of their consumers signed up for the “First to Know” list for PS4, and that 34% of PowerUP Rewards members are expected to purchase a PS4 in the next year. Raines expects similar consumer interest for Microsoft’s next Xbox, once announced.

“There’s a lot of demand for PS4, and I think there will be for the next Xbox as well, once it’s enough,” Raines added.
