GameStop Hosting Their First Expo in Texas This August
Posted on May 23, 2012 AT 01:58pm
GameStop has announced that they’re hosting their very first video game expo in Texas this year, taking over the San Antonio convention center to show off upcoming games from “dozens” of developers and publishers like Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Activision, and EA.
GameStop EXPO will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 29th. Tickets are on sale right now for card-carrying PowerUp Rewards members, but attendees must be at least 17 (leave the kids at home). VIP Admission passes ($100 each) will net you exclusive GameStop swag, access to “VIP” lines, and a pass for general sessions hosted by Namco Bandai, Square Enix, Ubisoft and Warner Bros. General admission is $35, but without all the special perks.
For those of you in the area, cosplay is allowed as long as you’re not packing anything that looks like a weapon.
Interestingly, you can also purchase these tickets with your PowerUp Rewards points instead of actual cash, so if you’ve been blowing them all on Call of Duty jackets and World of Warcraft wallets, you chose unwisely.
