GameStop has officially announced its collaboration with Valve to sell Steam Wallet cards in stores across the U.S.
The cards are available from today and come in denominations of $20 and $50, which is redeemed via a code printed on the back. “This gives even more options to customers now that they can put money in their Steam Wallet using cash, gift cards or trade credits through our convenient neighborhood locations,” said GameStop’s GM of digital distribution, Steve Nix.
“Offering Steam Wallet codes at GameStop extends more options and convenience to gamers around to the world,” added Valve’s Jason Holtman.
It’s been a long time coming, but those worried about putting their details online can finally download games via Steam. This will open up a nice chunk of new customers for both GameStop and Valve, and should really have been implemented sooner.
Is this a good idea? Will you buy one?
