Gearbox is giving Relic Entertainment’s Homeworld and Homeworld 2 the HD remake treatment, the studio announced at PAX Australia this weekend.
Gearbox acquired the Homeworld IP for $1.35 million as part of the sale of publisher THQ’s properties in the wake of the company’s bankruptcy.
Homeworld originally debuted on Windows PC in 1999, followed by Homeworld 2 in 2003. Gearbox did not provide a release window for the two HD remakes.
