Borderlands developer Gearbox Software is working on a brand new IP for next generation consoles.

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford mentioned the IP while speaking on the Nerdist podcast, but declined when pressed for further details. Pitchford also confirmed that more Borderlands 2 campaign DLC is on the way.

The smart money is on this new IP being a shooter, a genre that has gained the studio much love, and hate, with the likes of Brothers in Arms, BorderlandsDuke Nukem, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
