Wouldn’t you just love the opportunity to play Borderlands 2 while on the move? Well, so would Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford, he revealed that he’d love to see a Vita version of the game, but sadly the team doesn’t have the time to do it.
“One of the things I wish Sony would do is get behind Borderlands, because I’d love to see a Vita version of the game,” Pitchford told attendees of indie game event Rezzed. “I want to be able to have the character I’m working on with my PS3, and then when I’m on the road with my Vita I can just keep developing that same character because it exists on the cloud somewhere. Technologically, that’s possible.”
The major stumbling block with this idea is that Gearbox simply doesn’t have the time or resources available to create a Vita tie-in.
“Perhaps some of you folks can convince Sony to start that,” he suggested. “We’re too busy to develop it ourselves. But I know there are a lot of talented developers who could take our code, our source and our content and perhaps create something like that.”
Borderlands 2 is set to release September 18 in the U.S. and September 21 in Europe, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
