THE BUZZ: The official install size of Gears of War 3 has been revealed by Epic Games. The game will require 7.5GB of free space and be one of the first titles to use Microsoft’s new Xbox 360 disc format known as XGD3.

This new format reportedly adds an extra 1GB of available space to the disc compared to the one currently in use.  The disc can actually hold 7.95GB of data, however developers are only able to currently use 6.8GB of that data.

EGM’s TAKE: We’re in the corner believing Epic will put that extra space to good use in Gears 3.
