THE BUZZ: In this new video released by Sony, we get a more in-depth look at Lumines: Electronic Symphony, the latest chapter of the Lumines franchise specially designed for the Vita.
EGM’s TAKE: I’m a huge fan of the original PSP Lumines, and especially Lumines II—even though I know some will say the second game wasn’t as good as the first. While I also own the PSN and XBLA versions of Lumines, the series has always really felt like a game I enjoy far more on a handheld—so, I’m glad to see it returning to its roots.
Some of the changes in Electronic Symphony look intriguing, such as the tweak of the graphical engine, and the new system where avatars actually play a part in the game. While some things are changing, other elements better still be around—such as those required Genki Rockets tracks!
I’m starting to have one big complaint about the PS Vita, though: There are too many games announced that I want! I’m going to be completely broke once this thing launches.
