Part one of Ubisoft’s gameplay video series for Watch Dogs explains how wireless wizard Aiden Pearce is such a threat in Chicago’s heavily networked infrastructure.
By using the profiler (think an iPhone but way, way more powerful), the Watch Dogs protagonist is able to hack the CtOS supercomputer that governs over Chicago’s numerous web-linked services, including transportation, surveillance, and various data streams to intercept texts, voicemails, and commit other morally ambiguous invasions of privacy. According to the video, there are over 75 unique hacks that turn the city of Chicago itself into an extension of Aiden’s arsenal.
The next installment of the Watch Dogs gameplay video series will focus on the game’s setting, Chicago.
Watch Dogs launches on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U November 19 in North America, November 22 in Europe. PS4 and Xbox One versions are expected to launch alongside the consoles this fall.
