Blizzard has offered all Hearthstone players three free Kobolds and Catacombs packs as an apology for an issue that affected the game when the expansion launched.

“After launch, we discovered something not-so-fun: an issue that delayed some players from receiving new daily quests after logging in, largely due to the unexpected impact that so many Dungeon Runs had on our services,” the developer explained. “We immediately set to work investigating the issue and implemented hotfixes to resolve it. We’re still working on it, but at this point the delay is significantly reduced, and in most cases players will now see their daily quests immediately upon log in.”

As a result, all players will now find their free packs in the Gift area of the Blizzard Battle.net app.

The expansion introduces 135 new cards and a new single-player Dungeon Run mode. In this new mode, players start with a novice deck from their class of choice and face a series of progressively stronger foes. Throughout the run new cards can be looted from defeated bosses that can be used to improve the starting deck.

Hearthstone is available now as a free download on PC and mobile.
