Developer Black Forest Games is waiting to hear back from Nintendo regarding a release of their 2.5D platformer Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams on the Wii U eShop, according to Joystiq.
A Black Forest Games rep informed Joystiq that the studio was currently waiting for approval from Nintendo, having already submitted Twisted Dreams to the company. If greenlit, the new Giana Sisters game would be made available on the eShop sometime August.
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams originally debuted on Windows through Valve’s Steam Greenlight program August 2012. It was given a proper Steam release October, then ported over to XBLA in March 2013 and PSN last month.
Twisted Dreams is a sequel to the 2009 Giana Sisters re-imagining on DS, which itself was a rebirth of the original 1987 Commodore 64 title.
