God of War: Ascension game director Todd Papy has leaving Sony Santa Monica, the developer announced on Twitter this weekend.
“Yesterday was my last day @SonySantaMonica,” reads his tweet. “I’m extremely honored to have been part of that team. <3 you SSM!
“Time for the next adventure!!”
Responding to other Twitter users, Papy revealed that he hasn’t “quit games” and that he’s headed to Germany “to experience a different culture & all the wonderful things that Europe has to offer.”
Before working on the God of War series at SCE Santa Monica Studio, Papy also worked at the now defunct Midway Games and before that Atari.
God of War: Ascension launched earlier this year, on March 12, for PlayStation 3, to a lukewarm reception from EGM’s review guru Ray Carsillo.
