God of War

To add to its many special editions, the upcoming God of War may also be accompanied by a special PS4 controller and PS4 Pro bundle, based on recent retailer leaks.

Reddit user Huff2994 explains in a recent post that they purchased a DualShock 4 controller from Amazon and received one with a decal on the right grip that they didn’t recognize. Fans quickly identified the symbol—seen below—as one from the upcoming God of War, and more specifically from the cover of the game’s special edition SteelBook case.

As there has been seemingly no official announcement of a God of War-branded controller, it is currently unclear how Amazon came to send this one out. One popular theory circulating at this time is that the controller is part of the leaked God of War PS4 Pro bundle, recently listed on the Bulgarian retailer Ozone (via GearNuke). The listing has since been removed, but there is the possibility that the uniquely branded controller is part of that bundle.

God of War is slated to launch April 20th, exclusively on PlayStation 4. As for supplementary God of War content that has actually been confirmed, fans can look forward to at least three special editions of the game, including the Collector’s Edition, the Stone Mason Edition, and the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
