God of War IV Unintentionally Revealed?

Posted on January 3, 2012 AT 03:15pm

THE BUZZ: Well look, it’s another hint at an upcoming game revealed today—this time for a little something called God of War IV.

Timothy Williams had a resume up on his website listing his work as a composer. That resume listed a number of his previous efforts—showing that Williams had done musical work for such games as Defense of the Ancients 2 and Transformers, as well as movies like Rise of the Argonauts and the 2011 version of Conan the Barbarian.

Oh, there was one other thing listed on Williams’ resume: “GOD OF WAR IV (upcoming)”.

I say was because all traces of that resume—and, for now, Timothy Williams’ entire website—have unsurprisingly vanished. Before they did, however, Siliconera managed to snag a screen capture of said resume.

EGM’s TAKE: The idea of a God of War IV being in production will come as no surprise to anybody, but the question now is what form the game will take. Will it be another reason to need to own a PlayStation 3, or could the game possibly be in development for Sony’s next system?

It’s a tough choice: PlayStation 3 owners would certainly love to have more great game, but that’d be a heck of a launch title for a PlayStation 4.

What do you think? Would you want to see God of War IV on the PS3, or should it help launch Sony’s next hardware? What would you like to see in the game?
