God of War

True god killers will want to take advantage of the newly revealed God of War Stone Mason Edition—whenever the game finally decides to launch.

GameStop announced the game’s Stone Mason Edition, along with details on all the perks it offers. The bonus physical and digital content fans will find in this special edition is copious, making a good argument for its $149.99 asking price. The full selection of everything included in the Stone Mason Edition can be found below, as listed by GameStop.

  • Full Game
  • 9″ Kratos & Atreus Statue by Gentle Giant
  • Limited Steelbook Case
  • 2″ Huldra Brothers Carvings
  • Exclusive Lithograph
  • Cloth Map
  • Stone Mason’s Ring
  • Mimir’s Head Talking Keychain
  • 2″ Horse and Troll Carvings
  • Digital Contents Include:
    • Defender of the Chosen Shield
    • Death’s Vow Armor Set
    • Exile’s Guardian Shield
    • God of War Digital Comic #0 by Dark Horse
    • God of War Digital Mini Artbook by Dark Horse
    • Dynamic Theme

Anyone that is curious as to what the Stone Mason is—and the story behind it—will want to check out the developer’s The Lost Pages of Norse Myth video series. In November’s episode, fans learned the tragic tale of the Dead Stone Mason.

The release date of God of War‘s Stone Mason Edition is listed as June 30th, 2018, but this is assuredly only a placeholder date. Apart from the fact that June 30th would not fall into the developer’s promised release window of early 2018, that date also lands on a Saturday.

We don’t yet know when the standard game and its special editions will launch, but various leaks point toward late March. If one Sony producer is to be believed, fans should be learning the game’s PS4-exclusive release date soon.
