THE BUZZ: In a recent interview, Polyphony Digital’s CEO recently revealed that work has begun on Gran Tursimo 6. Kazunori Yamauchi was asked by IGN how he decides what new content is destined for DLC and what is made for the next full game release. He answered “of course we’re working on GT6 already and I think what really will be the separating factor is something that we can’t update through a DLC is something that obviously has to be saved for GT6.”  Yamauchi went on to say “Things that we can provide through DLC we will, so that’s really the market difference.”

EGM’s TAKE: Well, no surprise there. As much hype as the Forza franchise gets (and deserves) Gran Tursimo is still a huge franchise in its own right with millions of fans. With the legend of Yamauchi’s car obsession well documented, I’m sure work on a sequel began the moment Grand Turismo 5 went out the door. With any luck your children will be able to tell their children they played the Gran Tursimo 6 demo on a Playstation 5.
