THE BUZZ: The latest ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) update has revealed that Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City will be making their way to the PlayStation 3.
EGM’s TAKE: It’s been over 10 years since Grand Theft Auto 3 launched for PlayStation 2, and just under 10 for Vice City. In this new ESRB reveal, both titles are listed as being published by Sony Computer Entertainment—meaning it’s most likely that these will be those original versions of the games, which will be put up as part of the growing list of PlayStation 2 re-releases on the PlayStation Store.
The release of Grand Theft Auto 3—along with Vice City—were a big part of what sparked GTA‘s move to mainstream entertainment. They were also the series’ first moves into crafting the vast 3D worlds the series is known for, and both titles still sit on pretty impressive metacritic scores.
If you are yet to play either title—or just want to have one more go at them—then you should certainly keep an eye out for the full announcement of their digital re-release. Sadly, no solid release date or price have been mentioned.
