A new trailer for Gamescom 2012 has left the Internet in a tizzy after a snippet of Grand Theft Auto V footage was discovered in it, suggesting that the game will be making an appearance in Germany this August.

Rockstar isn’t listed as an exhibitor at the show, however parent company Take-Two is. Could they have something new to show? The footage in question can be found at the 1:50 mark in the video below. With Gamescom being the last major show that either Take-Two or Rockstar will be attending this year, will they choose this moment to give us that fabled release date? It’s wishful thinking, but you never know.

At worst we should get a new trailer, maybe even some gameplay. Guess we’ll have to wait until August 15 in Cologne, Germany to find out.

What do you think they will show or announce?
