While we haven’t yet reached next week’s release of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, the first two DLC characters for the game have now been announced. Even better? When released, they’ll be totally free for a limited time.

Those two characters? The gravity kitten herself—Kat—from the much-beloved PS Vita release Gravity Rush, and Emmett Graves, star of the online multiplayer PS3 hit Starhawk.

Fighting game master Seth Killian took to the official PlayStation Blog to make the announcement, saying this about how the two characters will integrate into the game:

In addition to the signature weapons you’ll remember from his duels with the Outcasts on Dust, Emmett’s playstyle will also utilize Starhawk’s unique “Build and Battle” system, calling down help from the sky.

Kat’s approach turns gravity on its head with some mind-bending new ways to move as she positions herself for her unique brand of aerial assault. Together, they make up one of the most original duos in All-Stars.

Killian notes that Kat and Emmett are proper DLC—as in, they’re being made after the full game was finished—so it’ll still be a while before the duo hits the game. However, when they do make their entrance early next year, they’ll be offered up as a free download for the first two weeks that they’re available.

Having never played Starhawk, I don’t have much to say about Emmett, but OH MY GOD YES at Kat being put into the game! She was definitely one of the most-requested characters I saw in terms of what fans wanted from to-be-added-later characters, so I’m glad to see Sony listening to the gaming public and putting her in.
