Gray Fox Could Have Been Your MGS: Revengeance Ninja

Talking to IGN Middle East, Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima mentioned how if he had it his way, Revengeance would have starred Gray Fox.
“In my personal opinion, I wanted to go for Frank Jaegar or Gray Fox,” Kojima told IGN Middle East. “But if we had gone with that, I would have had to write the script and then be really committed to creating the game. I want to pass game development to the younger generation in my team, and have been trying to do so for quite some time.”
Remember, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is not Kojima’s baby—it’s Platinum Games and Kenji Saito’s. Kojima was hands-off, focused more on production than development.
“If I had created the game and directed it, it wouldn’t have been this game,” Kojima said.
Does it matter who the cyborg ninja is? As I recall, none of us cared about the man behind the mask. We only cared about how cool the cyborg ninja looked. Raiden, jawless as he may be, is nothing if not aesthetically appealing. But Metal Gear Solid was a long time ago for me. I (fortunately )can’t remember most of Metal Gear’s meandering mess of a plot. All I remember is that there was a cyborg ninja because—c’mon, cyborg ninja.
