Tales of Hearts R, GRID: Autosport, Pac-Man and the Ghost Adventures 2, and more will arrive in 2014, Bandai Namco announced during their annual Global Gamers Day event.
The publisher first revealed GRID: Autosport from Codemasters, which will be coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 on June 24, 2014. And for the kiddies out there, Bandai Namco also announced Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 for 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U and the 3DS-exclusive Power Rangers: Super Mega Force—both with Q3/Q4 2014 release windows.
As for Bandai Namco’s wheelhouse—JRPGs—the publisher announced that Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will be coming to the West mere months after its launch in Japan later this week, meaning it should arrive on the PS Vita in North America sometime in Q2/Q3 2014.
The publisher also confirmed the long-awaited arrival of Tales of Hearts in the west in the form of Tales of Hearts R for PlayStation Vita. Originally released in Japan in 2008 for the Nintendo DS, a remastered version of the game was ported to the Vita in Japan in early 2013. According to Bandai Namco, Hearts R will make its western debut in Q4 2014. Whether the game will featured localized voice work or just subtitles over the original Japanese has yet to be revealed.
On the topic of the Tales series, Tales of Xillia 2 received an August 19, 2014 release date in North America. Bandai Namco will release a special collector’s edition alongside the standard edition that will retail for $126.99—the same as the first Tales of Xillia collector’s edition. Said CE will contain a soundtrack CD as well as a plushie of Rollo, a kitten companion from the game.
Anime lovers are also in luck: Bandai Namco also announced Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, and One Piece Unlimited World Red. Both Gundam Reborn and One Piece are looking at July 2014 releases, with Gundan Reborn a PS3 downloadable exclusive while One Piece will be available for PS3, Wii U, 3DS, and Vita. Naruto is slated for a September release for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
Bandai Namco wrapped up this year’s Global Gamers Day by talking about their dedication to the free-to-play model and by announcing Rise of Incarnates for PC, slated for a Q3/Q4 2014 release. Rise of Incarnates features developers from Tekken, Soul Calibur, and the popular Japanese arcade series Gundam Extreme VS. teaming up to deliver a 2v2 third-person action-shooter experience not likely seen before in the West.
