Guild Wars 2 Beta Gets 1 Million Applicants

THE BUZZ: The Guild Wars 2 beta application was only open for 48 hours, but that didn’t stop it from reaching a huge amount of applicants.

EGM’s TAKE: So, one million players signed up to get the chance the play the beta test of Guild Wars 2—not bad at all! The question now, of course, is how many of those million people will actually get the chance to participate in the beta.

I’m pretty curious about Guild Wars 2. A number of years ago, I tried the original Guild Wars, and I didn’t find myself really getting into it. Even so, I have this feeling that Guild Wars 2 is potentially going to be something very cool—and I’m always at least willing to give something a try.
