ArenaNet has decided to drop paid tournaments from Guild Wars 2 following the introduction of a ranked matchmaking system.

The earlier system was designed to keep higher level players fighting in the same brackets by charging for matches, however this new system does that automatically. The old system is now redundant and over complicated so ArenaNet has decided to remove it entirely.

Any players who have purchased tokens will have their money refunded.
