ArenaNet has announced that Guild Wars 2‘s September Feature Pack will improve the megaserver system by adding Global Guilds.

The system is already available in China, but come September North America and European guilds will also be able to take advantage of this new feature. Basically, instead of having a separate guild chapter for each server, everything, including the guild bank, merits, influence, and upgrades, will be shared across all servers.

The influence and merits earned by each separate chapter will be combined, and the merit cap of 250 will be temporarily increased to ensure that nothing is lost during the transition. However, more merits cannot be earned until it goes back below 250. Also, any upgrade unlocked will be available in the global guild, and those that have been unlocked on multiple servers will have their cost refunded.

Finally, the guild vault that had the highest number of slots before the merge will become the new main global guild vault. Any additional items that don;t fit in these slots will be granted temporary slots that will disappear once the item is withdrawn to ensure that no items are lost in the merge.

You can find more details here.
